Your functions
The Marketing Writer plays a key role in projecting our brand and promoting our products and services across all our markets around the world. Reporting to the Team Leader – Marketing Communications, the Marketing Writer ensures the quality, clarity and effectiveness of GIRO’s external communications, and that communications are adapted to requirements. You’ll also act as an advisor for strategically important client communications.
Your main responsibilities
- Write and revise communications in English for external publication or distribution (press releases, newsletters, advertisements, etc.)
- Revise and translate marketing and sales documentation (brochures, proposals, client communications, presentations, etc.)
- Create content for the website and social media
- Conduct interviews to gather the information required from clients to create impactful content (case studies, articles, etc.)
- Provide French-to-English translation support
- Provide linguistic support and advice to internal teams for projects involving traditional and digital communications in English
- Act as a resource within the team to ensure that the brand tonality is applied consistently and that the rules and norms of the English language are followed
- Keep up-to-date with trends in your field; research solutions, information and suppliers to integrate best practices
- Collaborate in continuously improving tools and practices of the Marketing and Client Experience team to increase efficiency and effectiveness of our different activities
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, literature or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- More than 10 years’ relevant experience in writing strategic content
- Experience in businesses providing B2B products and services
- Experience in the passenger-transport industry or a software-development company – an asset
- Demonstrated ability to act as an advisor for strategically important or sensitive client communications
- Good fluency in French and perfect command of English (oral and written)
- Knowledge of German or Spanish – an asset
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Skilled at handling several projects at the same time
- Client-focused, highly versatile and adaptable
- Excellent skills for interpersonal communications and teamwork
- Initiative, autonomy and attention to detail
