Starting salary: £27,000
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Lancaster

About us
Ascentis is one of the UK’s leading educational charity groups, encompassing an awarding organisation, a provider of dyslexia intervention software and an on-line training organisation. We are proud to bring together passionate people, and this is encompassed by the strong culture within the Ascentis Group.
In this role, you will be based in our state-of-the-art new office on Lancaster Business Park. These new facilities allow Ascentis to be well placed to capitalise on new market opportunities as we look to sustain success in the UK and internationally.
The role
Ascentis is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to produce content for our software products for the education sector. Our current range of products supports literacy, numeracy, and well-being at KS1 and KS2 with a strong focus on supporting SEND pupils. This role would suit someone with a background in education eager to help make a difference to young learners, especially those with learning difficulties.
Job Description
A significant component of the role is writing a wide range of audience-appropriate, engaging, and educational content, digital and otherwise on our digital education platforms.
You will help design product content in such a way that it engages learners and educators whilst providing them with a demonstrable benefit. The projects you help push forward will integrate contemporary pedagogical practice and demonstrate the sound methodology.
This is a varied role requiring a range of skills including undertaking, condensing, and presenting academic and market research as well as reviewing and generating content for new and existing products. You will be expected to use a wide variety of programs and tools, learning along the way, though previous experience with creative suites like Adobe is preferable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and be highly organised, are a must for this role. You will be required to coordinate and collaborate with numerous departments of the company, presenting your findings to stakeholders, and engaging with feedback to add value to what we offer.
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work on programs that make a real difference to people with learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyscalculia as well as being part of a forward-thinking, and ever-evolving company.
