School Mental Health Coach

• Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (dependent on experience)

Big Bear Bespoke Education is seeking a caring and understanding Psychology graduate to join Arun Court School to work within young people’s mental health. What is the role?

• Big Bear Bespoke Education is seeking those with a recent degree or master’s degree in psychology who have an interest in working in young people’s mental health, supporting them to access a blended learning approach.
• You will be working at Arun Court School, who specialise in supporting young people who have significant and long-term special educational needs but do not have a typical diagnosis on their Education, health and care plan.
• Arun Court School offers a small, nurturing setting that blends learning opportunities with intensive support in maintaining positive mental health as well as developing social and life skills.
• You will be working with young people who may have an additional diagnosis of ASD, ADHD or Dyslexia but whose primary need is acute anxiety, trauma or phobia.
• You will support young people to access learning through applied psychology techniques; running 6 weeks programmes on how to manage thoughts, implement a growth mindset and resilience.
• You will be able to support in a blended way too – ensuring that if young people have academic work to complete they can do so in a quiet, safe space with your guidance.
• The post also provides the opportunity to support wider family members and give parenting support, run workshops and activity days. You will gain qualifications in mindfulness, meditation, mental health coaching and be open to these opportunities.
• Big Bear Bespoke Education is looking for individuals who can give a 3-year commitment and are enthused by their ethos and approach.
