Staffordshire Winter Sports club is looking for a motivated and experienced leisure manager to operate the Planet Ice Altrincham site. The site strives to provide the best ice skating and ice leisure experience through a team who are passionate and committed to delivering a high quality and entertaining visit for all our customers.
To be responsible for the smooth and efficient day to day management of the unit, ensuring the company’s Brand Standards and Values are maintained at all times and ensuring all legal requirements are complied with in accordance with all Legislation and Company policies.
Reporting initially to a senior management team headed by a Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the ice rink and management staff . The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated proactive individual who has a minimum of three years management experience within a fast-paced leisure environment, knowledge of the ice industry is preferred but not essential.
You will be responsible for identifying required staffing levels, recruitment of quality staff, induction and ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to all management and staff within the Unit. You will be required to maintain a highly motivated team for day to day public skating, ice hockey events, and a bar and cafe provision.
You will exceed customer expectations by developing, implementing and maintaining the most efficient standards of customer service possible in all aspects of the operations to deliver optimum Brand Standards and Values.
Job Requirements
The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills, professional outlook, smart in appearance, and well organised; experience of managing volume; the drive to get their sleeves rolled up and have a hands on presence whilst maintaining a commercial and strategic focus, have experience managing and driving sales and performance and have a natural ability to build a rapport with customers.
- Experience in a leisure environment
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of customer service skills and be able to work within a team
- First Aid at work qualification is desirable
- Computer literate and the ability to demonstrate a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Full Driving Licence
This post requires the successful candidate to produce an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Check.
The candidate must be prepared to work flexible shift patterns e.g. morning shifts, evening shifts and alternating weekends.

Salary: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
