We are seeking a talented content creator with the flair and enthusiasm to work on content production and social media and in support of recruitment marketing for one of Whitehall’s most high-profile departments.
Working as part of the Brand & Talent Acquisition Team and reporting to the Creative Manager, the Content Producer will develop compelling branded content, including video, animation and written materials to help the Home Office achieve its campaign and recruitment objectives.
This role offers the post holder an opportunity to deploy their creative content production skills in the exciting field of employer branding and recruitment marketing, developing expertise that is highly valued by employers.
Job description
The Home Office Resourcing Centre leads all resourcing activities for the department, ensuring the Home Office can attract and retain talented people through the design of quality roles and use of targeted resourcing, attraction and selection strategies. The Brand & Talent Acquisition Team is a small and friendly team, which supports the Home Office to achieve its campaign and recruitment objectives. The team manages the department's employer brand and delivers high quality and impactful recruitment marketing campaigns and activities.
The Content Producer will be responsible for:
- Producing high-quality content for social media channels and recruitment marketing. They will work closely with a team of Campaign Managers.
- Coming up with exciting and innovative ways of supporting the objectives of their recruitment campaign on social media and the wider social media strategy.
- Creating content themselves, so a good level of photography, videography and editing skills, as well as design and animation skills, is required.
- Work with and manage suppliers to develop high quality content to support campaigns and promote the Home Office’s employer brand.
- Managing social media and other recruitment marketing channels, including the Home Office Careers website

Hybrid working enables employees to work partly in their workplace(s) and partly at home, subject to business needs. This role can be worked up to 60% from home and a minimum of 40% from the office.
Full-Time working pattern:
Due to the nature of the role, this post is available on a full-time basis only, job share is available.
Person specification
We’re seeking candidates with strong technical content production skills and a track record of delivering digital communications in a large, complex organisation.
You will be creative, diligent and committed to producing high quality content that meets creative briefs.
You will need to be highly organised, with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise effectively. You will be comfortable collaborating with others and communicating with stakeholders and customers.
Essential criteria
- Extensive photography, video production and motion design experience.
- Significant practical Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office and Mac OSX expertise.
- Strong copywriting, proofreading and script development skills.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and monitoring tools.
- Experience of planning and delivering digital communications in a large, complex organisation, including prioritising workload.
- Able to interpret, develop and collaborate on creative briefs.
Desirable criteria
- An ability to work flexibly on multiple tasks and to prioritise workload.
- Experience of working closely with other communications disciplines.
- Digital media file logging, organisation and management skills.
- Demonstrable interest in innovative creative technology.
- Knowledge of WordPress tools and publishing.

For meaningful checks to be carried out, individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time to enable appropriate checks to be carried out and produce a result which provides the required level of assurance. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years if the role requires CTC clearance, 5 years for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
