Salary: £33,348 to £35,308 with progression to £43,155 per annum

The Role
As Content and SEO Marketing Manager, you will plan, create, and edit effective content campaigns across a wide variety of media (including print, web, blog, email), to support our strategic objectives.
You will work within the Content Team to write copy and support on the delivery of content across multiple audiences, as well as providing ongoing content consultancy to wider Central Marketing colleagues.
In addition, you will play a pivotal role in developing the SEO strategy for the University, working with an external consultant to refine both our content, and our technical SEO.

This role is fixed term for a period of 12 months.

In collaboration with the Head of Content and wider colleagues and specialists, you will deliver multi-channel content strategies. These will cover:
CREATIVE CONTENT: You will play a key role in developing our digital marketing with creative, impactful, and engaging content tailored to our varied audiences across paid and organic channels, and our social media platforms. You will spearhead the development of downloadable guides/assets, infographics, video content and more. You will also create content for our printed materials, ensuring that your writing is targeted and considered for our different audiences and purposes
BLOG: You will support our blogsites Belong and FROM, and use search data to deliver an SEO content strategy around these platforms. You will write and edit blogs posts, source images, and ensure content is optimised for organic search. You will be expected to report on blog performance using Search Console, Google Analytics and Ahrefs
CRM: Develop and deliver an email strategy for our prospective student audiences. You will report on email performance, and work closely with the CRM team to run A/B tests and ensure consistent performance
RESEARCH: You will monitor user behaviour across social channels and search engines to identify the most valuable content opportunities. You will then share this research with colleagues to build unified, data-first content strategies
TECHNICAL SEO: You will be responsible for managing an external Technical SEO vendor, and overseeing their work with the Web Content Team to ensure the site follows SEO best practice. You will also be expected to knowledge-share, and stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends
CONTENT SEO: You will work closely with the Head of Content to ensure SEO best practice and integration into appropriate marketing campaigns
Other duties as required to support the Head of Content and Deputy Director of Marketing
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Practical experience in a similar role
Excellent copywriting skills
Technical and content SEO knowledge and experience
Proof reading skills and ability to sub-edit copy
Experience of relevant analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Ahrefs
Significant experience of using web content management systems and digital publishing platforms
Ability to effectively communicate our brand standards through content design.
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Able to identify and manage internal and external stakeholders, building relationships whilst meeting user needs. You will understand how to work with stakeholders and contribute to building relationship, using evidence to explain decisions made
Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven success in building relationships, internally and externally, influence and drive decisions
Knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable

Qualifications
Graduate or equivalent qualification/working experience
Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification or other relevant marketing/communication professional qualification. (Desirable)
