Job Description
This role offers the chance to develop content management experience and sharpen editorial skills from previous experience within a multimedia editorial department, working on pure digital content across multiple digital publications.
From day one, you will be able to input your ideas into our Content and Product Development roadmaps. As an Editorial & Content Associate, you will play an integral part in the smooth running of the Editorial & Content team, working alongside a team of content executives based in London and Mumbai.
As you progress, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of ad hoc tasks and product development projects. Dependent on your experience and drive, you may be able to take these on from day one.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a pre-covid work ethic, who has experience of working in an office.
Your mission:
We have outstanding in-house editorial, SEO and development teams. The successful candidates will work within our Editorial & Content team to: Curate. Manage. Support. Market and Engage.
- Work alongside our Editor to help suggest ideas and curate content
- Manage content through its lifecycle, making sure it is relevant, engaging and thought-provoking for our clients and audiences
- Work with our internal teams to develop the best packages to help our clients' marketing efforts and provide free and premium content to educate and inform our audience
- Use relevant tools and channels to help market content both internally (via the website) and also externally (via relevant channels)
- Engage with our audience / users to create more relevant content that will drive relevant traffic to our site
What you will do:
- Managing content effectively through its lifecycle
- Marketing content effectively via the most relevant distribution channels and ensuring editorial efforts contribute successfully to the overall marketing strategy
- Sub-editing and optimising articles etc. into our house-style (when required)
- Using SEO guidelines and techniques to enhance content (when required)
- Working with clients to deliver and monitor their marketing campaigns
- Managing relationships with clients, PR companies and other relevant industry contacts
- Sourcing and curating new stories relevant to the security, fire, HVAC and maritime sectors
- Monitoring competing businesses' content
- Representing SourceSecurity.com / SecurityInformed.com / TheBigRedGuide.com / HVACInformed.com / MaritimeInformed.com at key national and international trade events (when required)
- Communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure timely content delivery
- To become efficient in our content management systems and to assist in upload and publication when appropriate
- Curate content and put together the weekly eNewsletters for SourceSecurity.com and SecurityInformed.com - and monthly for TheBigRedGuide.com and HVACInformed.com
As you develop, you will:
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues where appropriate
- Contribute to the development of new publications across multiple industries
- Take ownership of clients’ email-based lead generation campaigns
- Champion new content initiatives live on-site, measuring success and sharing the results with stakeholders
Requirements

- You have experience of working in an office environment and can demonstrate a pre-covid work ethic
Essential skills
- IT competency across a range of applications, including: file management, use of internet, email, etc. and use of computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases
- Exceptional written English
- Previous professional experience in a digital publishing and or marketing environment (B2B preferred but not essential)
- Proven accuracy and attention to detail
Desired skills
- Some knowledge of SEO best practices
- High-level degree (2:1 or more) which demonstrates significant use of English language and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe packages is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of HTML would also be desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of marketing automation software would be desirable but not essential
