Here at the Isle of Wight Council we need a Digital Content Assistant to join our journey to ‘digital by default’, supporting the teams that look after all vital aspects of Island life, from Adult Social Care and Childrens Services to Regeneration and Environment.
Our Digital Content Assistant will assist in co-creating and managing content that meets digital accessibility standards for our external and internal websites, with focus on the customer experience and promotion of our services.
As part of the websites team, you’ll work with the Digital Content Editors to develop and maintain our website content so that it’s clear, accurate and engaging, using appropriate tools and formats. You’ll champion digital accessibility, and inspire, and engage with staff, across a range of services, creating effective and innovative digital content that is accessible for all.
You’ll use your skills and experience to optimise web content for search engines (SEO) and use statistical analysis to support decisions for content design, improvements, and updates.
To succeed you’ll need the following;
- A ‘Can Do’ attitude to support transformative change
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships with customers
- Good collaboration skills and the ability to develop ideas into an effective plan
- Ability to understand and work with content and accessibility guidelines
- Ability to contribute to the development of website content and to tailor content to meet different requirements
- Understanding of MS Office applications or other similar office suites, ideally with some experience of cloud collaboration tools such as Teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate business needs to web developers
- Ability to pay attention to detail and be accurate and quick in developing content
