Established in 2006, Broadsword is a growing event communications agency. Our clients are large, well-known companies and with a portfolio of in person, hybrid and virtual global event experiences, video production and content creation.
This apprenticeship will provide opportunities for creative growth in skills including graphic design and motion graphics.
Overview
As a Content Designer, you will be working on projects from concept through to completion. You will be part of an experienced team of designers responsible for ensuring all design concepts capture the style and personality of the end client. This apprenticeship will provide opportunities for creative growth in skills including graphic design and motion graphics.
You will be based at home with travel to team days, client offices and on-site as required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients at the outset of projects to determine the scope and purpose
- Work as part of a team to produce conceptual ideas, mood boards, sketches and visual presentations for the client using digital tools, such as Illustrator, Photoshop and In design
- Participate in departmental, planning, and design meetings
- Develop graphics and layouts for printed material and websites, determining size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material
- Delivery of a range of content for clients from short “explainer” style summary videos to complex animations, creating bespoke motion graphics using Adobe CC and 3D software / plug ins
- Understanding of layout, typography, transitions and able to follow a storyboard
- Support teams with post-production video editing for live and virtual events
- Storyboard video and animations or work from an existing storyboard
- Ensure brand guidelines / consistency is adhered to
- Ensure that materials are delivered in a timely manner, and on budget, with a key focus on the high quality and professional appearance of all deliverables
- Ensure paperwork and digital design files are well-organised and maintained
- Be current on new technologies and software, design trends, and production techniques
- Perform other work-related tasks that may be requested
- An innovative portfolio. This could be personal projects or work from college.
- Basic understanding of design software in particular photoshop, illustrator or indesign.
- Excellent eye for detail with strong typography and layout skills
- Excellent time keeping, organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to create accurate artwork and supply to printers
Maths and English GCSE at a grade 4/C above
Training to be provided
Digital Content Creator - Level 3 Standard
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.
