Ask anyone what they think our Contact Centre does and the answer will most likely be “they answer the phones”. While that is indeed one of our jobs, we also do lots of other things, like managing the housing benefit and localised council tax support schemes, maintaining the council tax and business rate database’s, undertaking the administration of many of the council software systems, and playing a leading role in the ongoing digitalisation of council services.
Add to the above the fact that for the past three years we have also been busy delivering many of the various Government sponsored Covid-19 and cost of living financial support schemes like the energy rebates and the household support fund, and as you can see, we do a lot more than just answer the phones. We have so much to do in fact, that we need new recruits to join us. So, if you are highly motivated, eager to learn and considering a career in local Government, we may have the perfect opportunity you've been looking for.
We are looking for applications from candidates who are eager to progress, have excellent communication and keyboard skills, are friendly, approachable and able to work under pressure on their own, or as part of a team.
Successful applicants will spend time working in each of the teams under the Contact Centre umbrella and will be trained in every aspect of each teams work. They will also be required to undertake a professional qualification, via distance learning.
