Barking Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit an additional enthusiastic substantive consultant colleague to join our department and work within a friendly, progressive department of 13 consultants together with Associate Specialists, trainees and speciality doctors covering a range of T&O services. The post is for a surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery and the candidate must be comfortable covering most aspects of the work required by a Trauma & Orthopaedics department.The Trauma Service is delivered from Queens Hospital and has access to 30 bedded wards which have been awarded Bronze Ward Accreditation for its quality of care provided. All elective activity is delivered at King George Hospital, with an in-patient capacity of 18 beds. The Department also offers Orthopaedic Elective clinics at Queens Hospital, King George hospital and Harold Wood polyclinic.
We are an innovative service, being 1 of 6 Trusts using Robotic Surgery in the UK. Running 5 successful Bones Weeks over the last couple of years and being one of the best performing Trust in London/Country for high volume surgeries.
As a service we cover Trauma, all elective (not spine), Diabetic foot service, Baby DDH, Ponseti Clinic, USGI - upper limb, Complex arthroplasty, Robotic Surgery, Virtual Fracture Clinics, ESWL's (shock wave therapy) and MDT Complex Hand.
