Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Medical Retina and Diabetic Retina
Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications for a new substantive consultant post in Ophthalmology, to join the existing team of five Ophthalmologists (and two locums) providing acute and out-patient care to the population of Northamptonshire and surrounding regions. High Volume Cataract surgery and Eye Casualty is an essential requirement, sub-specialism interest in Medical Retina and Diabetic Retina Service is desirable.
The Department of Ophthalmology at Kettering General Hospital is committed to providing high quality, patient centred care and it is expected the successful candidate will be an exceptional and highly motivated individual, working with a similar ethos. The post-holder will participate in the Ophthalmology on call rota at the Trust.
Two initiatives for Ophthalmology include;
1. The development and expansion of the old ENT out-patient area, creating two injection procedure rooms, clinic rooms and separate waiting room for patients.
2. Source suitable accommodation, to modify an Ophthalmology out-patient unit which will offer better access to diagnostics, virtual and face to face facilities in the community.

The Eye Casualty, LA/GA daycase procedures and inpatient provision will remain onsite at Kettering General Hospital.
The post-holder will be joining a cohesive team of five Consultant Ophthalmologist's and will enjoy proactive involvement in developing and delivering, new innovative, clinical pathways and support education, audits and learning as an established Teaching Unit.
