Job description
This is an exciting new post within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Public Engagement Team, sitting within the Research and Impact Directorate, this role will work with the Faculty Public Engagement Officers to help deliver a variety of initiatives designed to support researchers to carry out public engagement.
As a Faculty we currently run a breadth of successful public engagement (PE) initiatives and events. Our externally facing programmes engage with diverse audiences, sharing our research both locally and internationally, whilst internally we work with hundreds of members of staff and students each year, supporting people to both take their first steps in PE and to develop significant engagement initiatives which enhance their research.
The role of the Public Engagement Assistant is to provide key administrative support for a wide range of PE projects including; our two flagship events - Meet the Scientists and Pint of Science Liverpool, our PE grants scheme and annual Showcase Event, training workshops and both small- and large-scale one-off PE initiatives.
You should have an interest in science and in supporting others to share their research with the public. You will have a minimum of 3 GCSE or equivalent qualifications at Grade C or above, including English Language.
You will be able to establish and maintain working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and to independently balance priorities whilst working on multiple events simultaneously. You should be a team player who is able to adapt to changing circumstances, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
