The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant – Industrial Designin our Hammersmith, London studio. Key responsibilities include:
· Understand and interpret design briefs, research projects and innovation programmes.
· Research: Conduct contextual and desk-based design research.
· Participate and assist in Innovation Workshops.
· Compile visual stimulus: orientation and mood boards, visual language mapping, and analogy inspiration.
· Storyboarding: both hand-drawn and digital, to communicate a variety of scenarios
· Produce high quality sketching to capture and communicate thoughts and ideas.
· Use digital tools to enhance sketches, create renderings and communicate ideas. Provide early fireframes of graphic assets for digital interfaces.
· Generate 2D layouts and illustrations.
· Develop concepts and design schemes using 2D techniques, sketch models and 3D CAD tools.
· Produce conceptual 3D CAD surface models to generate high quality renderings.
· Evaluate & Articulate: providing rationale for idea selection and synthesis.
· Concept creation: synthesise ideas into compelling propositions, create clear narrative and rationale
· Design refinement: developing form, detail, CMF and branding.
· 3D Development for evaluation: creating spatial/handling/form models in the workshop.
· Creative assessment and Appraisal of UI and Ergonomic issues.
· Appraise manufacturing and cost implications of creative approaches.
· Work with technical specialists to ensure compatibility with downstream requirements.
· Define visual specifications and produce necessary artworks.
· Graphic design of presentation material for issue to clients.
· Follow the project requirements of the PDD Quality System.
· Project management skills
This role is integral in helping us meet our agreed aims and objectives within a profitable, professional, efficient and effective working environment.

The candidate
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
A first class degree in Industrial/Product Design.
· Versatile creative problem solver
· Natural, sensitive visual flair
· Appreciation for other fields of design
· An understanding of wider societal and global mega trends
· Able to manage personal workload, responsibilities and time effectively
· Excellent communication skills to liaise with teams, clients and suppliers
· Advanced Adobe Creative Suite & ideally a 3D CAD package
