This is an opportunity to join an organisation in which Clinicians are at the forefront of management, which also currently provides an on call service to the Haematology services at North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint 1 less than Full Time Consultant Haematologists, based at Wansbeck General Hospital. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop a special interest to compliment the other members of the department and will participate in the provision of haematology services to the population of over 500,000. A multi disciplinary team approach to the haematology service provision is being developed throughout the Trust.

Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of Pathological problems both emergency and elective. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.

Fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register or Specialist Registrars may apply if within 6 months of CCT at date of application.

FRC Pathologists (Fellow Royal College of Pathologists) or equivalent.

Full GMC Registration.Clinical training and experience in the relevant speciality, equivalent to that required to gain entry to the high standard of clinical skill and expertise in Pathology.Clinical Governance experience

The successful candidate will be expected to cover clinical commitments across all Northumbria Hospitals including Wansbeck General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital and the Northumbria Emergency Specialist Hospital (NSECH). A multi-disciplinary team approach to the Haematology service provision is being actively developed throughout the Trust.
