Job description
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and progressive Consultant Radiologist to work within a cohesive and supportive breast multi-disciplinary team and to provide a quality service in both symptomatic and screening settings.
The particular post requires a highly skilled breast radiologist who has specialized in breast during their training and holds UK experience at Consultant grade. Radiologist will cover mainly breast sessions alongside some general work.
The post is for 6 PAs for Breast with any general diagnostic time to be agreed .
You will be joining a large but friendly team of 34 Consultant Radiologists working at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals.
The service has encompassed the full 4 tier skill mix thus supporting learning and development opportunities at all levels. The team includes seven Consultant Radiologists, three Consultant Radiographers, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
The Surgical team includes breast surgeons, two with Oncoplastic reconstruction expertise, Nurse Consultant - Breast and Breast Care Nurses.
The multidisciplinary team is innovative, cohesive and forward thinking; participating in multiple national research and audit trials including the Prospect trial. The service has recently been subcontracted for high risk screening and also supports the high risk population from Russell Hall hospital.
The symptomatic pathway reflects the screening pathway to instil best practice. The service double reports all MRIs and through an SLA agreement supports MRI at Russell Hall hospital.
