You will join our Sustainability & Carbon department
As our new sustainable construction expert, you'll join our sustainability and carbon team within the UK Environment and Health business unit. With nearly 250 professionals, we provide services in corporate net zero strategy, science-based targets advisory, carbon data management, energy efficiency, sustainability and climate risk, biodiversity net gain, natural capital, EHS management, impact assessment, health sciences, air quality, and due diligence to diverse clients in various sectors. We have a collaborative and supportive team culture that encourages initiative, teamwork, and continual improvement in all aspects of our work
Your key tasks and responsibilities could include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership of our work to embed sustainability into infrastructure and buildings projects. This will entail collaborating closely with our directors, utilising and enhancing systems and methodologies tailored to the unique needs of our clients.
- Work alongside our engineering design teams and contractors, particularly for transport infrastructure projects, to develop and deliver sustainable designs. This involves refining tools and approaches to integrate sustainability into all design work, including project-specific deliverables.
- Plan, undertake, coordinate, and supervise sustainability work including further development of our BREEAM Infrastructure services, sustainability management, carbon reporting and decarbonisation strategies.
- Lead diverse projects and tasks, including managing client relationships, project budgets, and team resources across a portfolio of projects within the public and private sectors.
- Drive successful proposal wins, project delivery, and client retention.
- Serve as a positive senior role model, embodying Ramboll's expected behaviours.
- Supporting training and knowledge sharing with junior staff and working with other Ramboll teams to integrate sustainability management processes within their disciplines.
From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point could include:
- BEng (Hons)/MEng Degree in a sustainability related subject.
- Chartered Engineer/Environmentalist or Incorporated Engineer/Register Environmental Practitioner, and member of a relevant institution.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering processes and tools to embed sustainability into construction projects.
- Experience of working alongside engineering designers and contractors.
- Fluent knowledge and experience with BREEAM, PAS2080 or similar approaches and guidance.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to effectively present to senior internal and external clients.
- Proficiency in preparing commercially effective proposals, tenders, and deliverables.
- Effective, collaborative, and empowering project management skills to ensure efficient and accurate project delivery, including managing national or international project teams.
- Excellent client and team engagement and relationship building experience
- Experience of writing and reviewing reports, including contributions to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or Strategic Environmental Assessments.
