Job Summary The consultant position is to join our thriving Dermatology service at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust. You will be responsible for a range of activities within the service including: Consultant-led clinics Operating Procedures Cancer Clinics Ward Reviews Advice and guidance for GPs Currently we have 2 dermatology consultants: Dr L Gardner (Clinical Lead) Dr E Parry We are supported currently by a locum team. The post holder will be expected to participate in teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff, medical students and specialist nurses. Supervise the training of junior medical staff in the team in conjunction with the other physicians in the department.
Participate in regular departmental audits. Participate in on call general medicine rota which will include weekend working. Currently the rota is 1 in 14 but this may reduce over the next year as part of developments taking place in medicine. The Dermatology department is located within the Division of Medicine and Clinical Support, which comprises of the Emergency Department, the Acute Medical Unit, Intensive Care, the Coronary Care Unit, General Medicine whose sub specialties include; Diabetes/Endocrinology, Neurosciences, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, Dermatology, Haematology.
