Job Description
➢ CONSTRUCTION MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE/WORKING SUPERVISOR
➢ HEAD OFFICE IN DINNINGTON, SHEFFIELD
➢ WORKING ALL OVER THE UK
The candidate will be required to manage a two-man gang made up of themself and one other construction operative. Day to day jobs will consist of a varied range of small- and large-scale construction projects within the maintenance sector of construction, largely taking place within industrial warehouses for corporate clients such as DHL, ALDI, Arriva Bus and many others. The scope of works that will be carried out will often change dependent on the specific project meaning adaptability will be a frequent requirement, skills will need to be developed throughout the period of employment. A suitable candidate will have a versatile skill set including but not limited to the following areas: Joinery/Brickwork/Roofing/Groundworks. In addition to building maintenance
Stewarts specialise in large/medium and small-scale warehouse fit outs and groundworks projects meaning skills in these areas are favourable but not mandatory. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of the construction industry with a minimum of 8 plus years’ experience.
Candidates will be expected to follow fast adapting instructions based on the client’s requirements. An important skill will be managing and planning the assigned jobs for the forth coming week for their gang, this will involve purchasing and collecting the required materials/plant and safety equipment. Once on-site operatives will be required to liaise with customers around the specific job they are completing, ensuring a professional conduct is always maintained even within pressured situations. A driving license is mandatory as successful applicants will be issued with a works van. Working away will be a requirement of the role were needed but will by no means be a constant.
