Job description
Heritage Matters is one of the country's leading heritage management consultancies and an accredited Historic Environment Service Provider with the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. Due to our expanding workload, we are looking to recruit additional professional staff to strengthen our team - providing a comprehensive range of historic environment services throughout the UK to a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors.
This role will be home-based. Whilst the majority of our workload is in the Midlands, Cotswolds and London, we are keen to expand our workload in other areas of the UK. For this initial 6-month contract role, the main focus of the job will be to provide design and project management for a large complex barn conversion project in the Hitchin area, which has a number of contractual and enforcement issues that need to be regularised. The project is likely to take up to 18 months to complete and the initial 6 month contract is likely to be extended. Initally we are looking for a compentent architectural tecnician/technologist (CIAT or similar) who can prepare drawings and specifications for building regs and LBC, and then select and supervise a new contractor to complete the works to a high standard. Experience of working on residential listed and period buildings is essential.
We are looking for team-players who are empathetic to the needs and problems of clients; and, like ‘working outside the box’ to develop solutions that can make a positive contribution to the long-term conservation and understanding of our heritage.
We look forward to hearing from you.
