The University of Oxford Science Park, Begbroke, is seeking to appoint a Computing Support Officer who can provide a flexible, responsive IT service to client companies, academic groups and departmental staff.
This is an excellent career opportunity, supporting the provision of the IT and computing requirements of the Begbroke Science Park Directorate. The role also supports IT teams from other University departments based at Begbroke, as well as aiding the provision of a fit for purpose IT service to the commercial tenants and spinouts. In addition, the post will provide a wide range of PC, AV, Conferencing and Network Support covering software, hardware and operating systems and networking (infrastructure and connection). The post forms a front of house function, as the service interacts with all of the client communities at Begbroke. A customer-service based “can-do” approach is therefore essential.
Reporting to the IT Manager you will be responsible for support of servers and workstations used by the Departments, as well as assisting the IT team in the development, improvement and expansion of site networks, services and security. The role involves managing installations, resolving faults and developing solutions for users in both Linux, Apple Mac and Windows environments. Administration and support experience in at least two of these operating systems will be of benefit and training will be provided to develop your expertise in other environments if needed.
This role will be of particular interest to those who prefer to work in a diverse support environment with an engaged user base while developing skills in all forms of server and workstation support.

You will be required to upload a full CV, and a supporting statement demonstrating how your skills and experience meet the selection criteria.
