Duties
- Serve as a senior specialist and systems administrator.
- Develop and implement systems diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure the availability and functionality of systems required to support organizational objectives.
- Develop standards and criteria for assessing server performance, availability, capacity or configuration problems. Develops procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.
- Reallocate resources as they become available, optimizes systems performance and recommends additional components to improve overall performance.
- Manage the installation of software and hardware, systems fixes, updates and enhancements. Installs, configures and tests software on workstations.
- Develop and present training on the operation and maintenance of systems to the IT staff.
- Maintain server integrity and availability.

- This is a Top Secret/SCI position. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This is a drug testing position, subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Qualifications

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience with Windows operating systems and VMware software installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and security fundamentals; systems optimization, systems integration, performance tuning, evaluation methods and procedures, and project management principles to maintain, update, plan, and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.

- This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.

- This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.
- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
- Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
