We are recruiting for a Specialist Computer Engineer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your digital and IT skills to help in the treatment of cancer patients. Radiotherapy treatment machines are increasingly driven by computers, with patient treatment plans stored in large databases and the whole department linked by multiple networks.
Ideal candidates will be multi skilled, with an understanding of server and client architecture, networking, databases and security. You will be people focused, happy to help individual users with desktop support issues but equally at home trouble shooting issues on servers. You will work as part of a small team with close links to the radiographers and scientists providing patient care.

To be a part of a team providing IT services to the Physics Department, Radiotherapy Department and Medical Equimpent local area network (MEL)
To assist in training and support of a wide range of professional staff who constitute the users of these systems.
To assist in ensuring the safe operation of systems connected to the MEL.
To assist in the IT aspects of the implementation of new treatment techniques in Radiotherapy.
To implement hardware and software solutions as part of the treatment planning system, including backup and security solutions

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177per annum pro rata.
