Description

This is a permanent position associated with federal funding under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program, and the U.S HHS, Administration for Children and Families’ Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program. This position is fully in-person with the possibility of some remote work.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs monitoring functions of subrecipient agencies who receive federal funds in which to operate the Weatherization Assistance Program for the State of West Virginia. Work involves providing technical assistance to subrecipients and utilizing various monitoring methods to ensure compliance with grant requirements; including field installation quality, assurance that grant funds are properly spent and accurate grant records maintained.

Work involves the ability to read, understand, and analyze complex documents including technical guides, legal documents, rules/regulations/requirements, and detailed reports. Responsible for compiling accurate/detailed reports when performing monitoring or technical assistance. Must maintain working knowledge of all Federal and State regulations that guide the program and remain current with industry changes. Responsible for interpreting and explaining laws, rules, and regulations to subrecipients as they apply to compliance.

This position is located in Charleston, West Virginia at one of the most beautiful state capitol complexes in the country. The State Capitol is located on Kanawha riverfront with easy access to downtown, the airport, and public transportation.
