Collection & Delivery Driver
Sites Assistant/Maintenance
Based in Havant Warehouse. PO9 1JB.
Work Pattern: 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday-Friday
Reporting to: Warehouse Manager
**Must have: Current Licence to drive and be able to drive a
3.5 tonne Luton style box van**
Job Description
Key responsibilities include: Ensure the coordination of daily collections/deliveries and meeting daily deadlines:
- Ensuring an efficient, economic collections & deliveries service, in continual communication with reception while en-route to advise of any unplanned activity/ customer issues
- Ensuring the van is correctly loaded and leaves the site as soon as possible each morning and returns in time to be unloaded and have any next-day deliveries loaded by 4.30pm
- Ensuring deliveries are promptly delivered by deadlines, in the condition as seen when sold, into and from customers homes which may include stairs and flats.
- End of day reviewing daily paperwork with warehouse supervisor, ensuring full completion.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, loading and unloading of Stella’s Voice vehicles & premises:
- Ensuring all checks/paperwork are completed and any issues are reported to warehouse supervisor for resolution
- Ensuring organisational procedures are followed, with required standards met
- Ensuring vehicle loads are never over tonnage limit
- Ensuring that vehicles are securely locked and parked in appointed place at end of day
- Immediate reporting of accidents and incidents
- Ensuring warehouse doors at loading areas are locked and secure at end of day
Ensure that collected donated items meet H&S requirements and organisational standards:
- Following instruction from current guidelines on what can and cannot be accepted and politely refusing unacceptable items. Minimising waste for charity’s disposal
- Consultation with warehouse supervisor for questionable items and customer issues
Assisting Staff & Maintenance on Stella’s Voice sites:
- Assist in maintaining attractive, efficient indoor & outdoor sites including any maintenance.
- Assist customers transporting heavy/awkward items to/from their vehicles
- Move furniture and heavy items into and around the warehouse and sites as required
- Sort, prepare, and recycle incoming donations in accordance with current organisational procedures. Ensure quality and H&S checks are applied to required standards
- Ensure retail gift aid procedures are correctly applied
Provide training to new employees & volunteers
Participate in team meetings to contribute to the development of the organisation
Use initiative to identify weaknesses in systems/procedures and suggest improvements
Carry out any other relevant general duties as appropriate or required by senior management
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £10.42-£11.50 per hour
