Competence Verifier - Offshore Rotation
Location: Aberdeen

The Competency Verifier is responsible for supporting the strategy & services of the training and competency function within Bilfinger and to ensure compliance with requirements in accordance with our company procedure.
To provide offshore support to assessors and candidates in relation to the Competence Management System (CMS), specifically with Assessment, Verification and the Competence framework.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake site visits to the relevant offshore platforms
- Plan all site visits and document target areas/report back on progress and follow up regularly
- Establish and maintain relationships with Assessor and Candidates
- Coaching of Assessors on site to improve quality of assessments and assessment practice to ensure a standardised approach
- Provided additional support for newly trained assessors and provide regular feedback to them
- Carry out Internal verification on incoming Competence assessments and provide feedback as required
- Support Assessors and Verifiers where they are undertaking their own qualifications (if applicable)
- Ensure accuracy of required documentation is maintained to meet the needs of assessor candidates and organisation requirements
- Hold regular Standardisation meetings with Assessors and Verifiers and maintain records of such in line with CMS requirements
- Liaise with external awarding bodies and EQA’s as required
- Support/monitor Apprentice progress and work with external providers/ internal departments to address any issues in a timely manner
- Work with all stakeholders on KPI targets
- Support the ongoing review of CMS processes, framework and standards
- Identify areas of improvement within CMS scope, make the necessary changes, as agreed with stakeholders and support with the roll out of any changes internally/externally
- Provide support for Subject Matter Experts in relation to develop and management of change of competence criteria
- Conduct familiarisation sessions, either face to face or remotely, particularly for our digital system Onboard Tracker
- Assist in creation of in-house CMS e-learning, where applicable
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and understanding of competence assessment principles
- Experienced in assessment and verification activity (Occupational knowledge can vary)
- Proven experience of leading a team of Assessors, able to train, motivate and coach assessors in their practice
- Experience of developing competence standards including performance and knowledge criteria
- Practicing Assessor/Verifier -
- L&D9/11; A1, V1; D32/33/34;
- Record of CPD
- Awareness of Major Accident Hazards
- Ability to work on own initiative and remain flexible
- Ability to take ownership and lead the way with projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders of all levels and engage with the offshore workforce
- Ability to prioritise workload and regularly re-evaluate progress
- Ability to provide clear communication and recognise when alternative methods of delivery may be necessary
- Positive mind set with problem solving ability
- Maintain high standards of integrity
- Working with a digital CMS (desirable)
- Familiar with Operations and Maintenance roles and Competence standards (desirable)
- Experience of an offshore environment or Supervisory role offshore (Production, Operations & Maintenance would be advantageous) (desirable)
