We're looking for a Climate and Environment Program Director in the UBS Optimus Foundation to:
We're looking for a Climate and Environment Program Director in the UBS Optimus Foundation to:
- manage the implementation of our climate and environment strategy that focuses on marine and coastal ecosystems and sustainable land use, and includes grant making and collective philanthropy approaches to achieve impact
- manage a portfolio of climate and environment programs to ensure they deliver impact
- work closely with the Foundation’s social finance team
- work closely with the Social Impact team across the different regions to identify and establish partnerships with philanthropists interested in and/or working in the climate and environment sector
- partner with philanthropy advisors to provide expertise and advice in the area of climate and the environment
- ensure the Foundation and the Social Impact team is up-to-date with best practice and cutting edge thinking on climate and the environment

Your team
You’ll be working at one of the offices where the UBS Optimus Foundation is located. The Foundation was established in 1999 in Switzerland. It is an award-winning, expert grant-making foundation that helps UBS clients use their wealth to drive impactful, scalable, and sustainable solutions to the pressing social and environmental problems the world is facing. It has developed a strong reputation in applying social finance instruments to outcomes-focused programs. The Foundation has offices in Switzerland, UK, Germany, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India. In 2021, the Foundation raised more than USD 160m for programs in health, education, child protection, and climate and environment.
Your expertise
- at least 7 years’ work experience in climate, the environment and/or sustainability
- significant experience and networks in the areas of climate or the environment
- social sector grant-making and/or social program management experience, driving impact
- experience of working with private clients or philanthropists to share your expertise
- strong communication and facilitation skills
- team-oriented, adaptive working style, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
