Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Company Accountant to join a local business on a temporary basis. Working on a 3-month, temporary contract, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with an investigative and analytical mind.
Hourly pay equates to around £40K per annum but this can be flexible for the right individual. Ideally, you will be available in the next few weeks to support the Finance Director.
The successful candidate should be qualified or qualified through relevant experience, reliable and confident with a can-do attitude. We’re looking for someone with a positive and flexible approach in their role, willing to carry out whatever the task is at hand.
Key responsibilities of the Company Accountant will include:
- Prepare and input information and data into Sage software system
- Ensure accurate and timely transactions on the purchase ledger in Sage
- Sales ledger management in Sage
- Cash management, banking and reconciliations
- VAT
- Monthly management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Ad hoc reporting as required
The successful Company Accountant will ideally have:
- A high level of numeracy and literacy skills with good attention to detail
- Uses initiative to problem solve
- Strong prioritisation, organisational and time management skills
- Proactive and able to use initiative
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Detailed knowledge of MS Office 365 software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Previous experience of Sage 50 and/or Xero accounting software
- Good communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to multi-task and work in a pressured, fast-paced environment
This role would be an excellent position for an experienced management accountant, company accountant, project accountant or Financial Accountant.
Based near central Hull, his role is commutable from Easington, Hornsea, Beverley, Brough and surrounding areas.
