About The Role
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want.
The Service supports people with learning disabilities in their own homes over 24 hours.
The support worker role involves all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in their local community, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication and ensuring people's needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.
The successful applicant will value others and have a person centred approach supporting people with dignity and respect.

Key Accountabilities
- To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan
- To support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day to day needs, including personal care supports
- To support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, either from their own home or in a community setting, including for example swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping etc
- To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines at all times
Skills and Experience
- Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role.
- Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment. Please note this training will be funded by the Service. You will be provided with a thorough induction and will be well supported by an experienced management team.
