The community involvement function is responsible for the leadership, development and co-ordination of the trust’s third sector provision; volunteering, directing the support received from individual fundraising donors and community groups. The department has a major role in the governance, operational and promotional activities of the Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity working on behalf of the corporate trustee.
We are looking for a exceptional individual who is proactive , organised and with an eye for detail to drive the delivery of high quality standards. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exemplary administration and communication skills
You will have a flexible approach to working hours and be keen to further develop your skills in a diverse but challenging role. You will play a pivotal role within a supportive team who are focused on improving the experience of people visiting our hospitals.
Responsible for the management, recruitment, placement, training and wellbeing of volunteers across our hospital sites.
Liaise with and advise line managers and other relevant parties on a range of volunteer and charity matters to ensure that the community involvement service is proactive and supports services to deliver the highest quality patient care.
Co-ordinate, on behalf of the Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity, patient service improvement projects.
Lead the Community Involvement Team and deputise for the Community Involvement Manager across our 3 sites.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the Community Involvement Department, ensuring that appropriate processes are in place to deliver a streamlined service.
Responsible for the recruitment/selection, induction and placement of volunteers from the commencement of the recruitment episode to full pre-employment checks.
To provide service managers and other relevant parties with advice, support and guidance on all aspects of the recruitment process, for volunteers, ensuring the most appropriate volunteer is allocated to a specific service/area to deliver the outcomes required.
To work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any problems and complaints at an operational level that may arise in relation to the service provided by the team and/or volunteers escalating any to the Community Involvement Manager as appropriate.
To monitor and review the effectiveness of the recruitment and placement procedures with the Community Involvement Manager on a regular basis.
Oversee the management/maintenance of the volunteer database, management of volunteer expenses and production of statistical reports.
To ensure effective equal opportunities monitoring during the recruitment process and to actively promote diversity, including race diversity, both in the delivery of Trust services and in the recruitment, management and development of staff within the Community Involvement Department.
To address any initial attendance, performance, grievances and disciplinary matters relating to volunteers.
Support the Community Involvement Manager in organising the annual programme of trust events.
Deputise for the Community Involvement Manager.
Contribute to the development of Charitable Funds strategy, volunteer workforce strategy and associated action plans.
Provide programme management advice and support to service managers and other related parties regarding access to charitable funds and fundraising opportunities.
