The Safeguarding Adults Team has a leading role in the Derby Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, alongside representatives from key partnership agencies including Children’s Social Care, Derbyshire Police, and the NHS. The Safeguarding Adults Team is the single point of contact for all referrals about the abuse or neglect of adults with care and support needs who may be unable to keep themselves safe from abuse or neglect. The team works in partnership with Derby citizens to help them express their views and wishes about what they would like to happen, and alongside other agencies and organisations a creative and supportive safety plan is developed. This is a dynamic and fast-paced team, and we are looking for a Community Care Worker with a passion for Safeguarding Adults, to join us.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with people who have care and support needs
- Good verbal and written communication skills and a passion for good customer service
- Knowledge, experience and understanding about safeguarding adults and making safeguarding personal
- Maths and English GCSE at least grade C or equivalent qualifications or experience
- Computer and Information Communication Technology literacy
- The ability to work in partnership with other agencies
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
