The Communications Team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust positively influences the work of the Trust by engaging people in a way they can relate to. We are pleased to be recruiting two Communications Specialists to the in-house team.
We are looking for proactive, positive people with excellent creative skills to help us build on our great reputation as a collaborative team that delivers results. As part of our fast-paced team you will be working alongside other communications professionals.
One role will focus on the management of various aspects of communications initiatives and plans, operating at both corporate level and supporting local teams and managers.
The other role will take a lead role in communications activities in relation to recruitment and retention of colleagues, working closely with our people and culture team to promote Nottinghamshire Healthcare as a great place to work. Graphic design, photography and digital skills would be a distinct advantage for this role.
Successful applicants will have a proactive attitude and contribute relevant new ideas to help further develop the communications offer. You will be creative and proficient in leading campaigns and have experience of social media management.
You will also possess the ability to work under pressure and against competing deadlines. Strong analytical and project management skills would be advantageous.

To support and facilitate effective internal and external communications activity as part of a specialist team providing technical advice and practical support across the Trust. Also, to devise, implement and evaluate special projects which support the Trust’s strategy, promoting awareness of mental health issues, learning disability awareness, community services. System working across the system is also important, developing professional and community relations and raising the profile of the organisation and the local system.
The role requires an experienced and/or graduate level communications professional, with an understanding of communications, media and public relations issues.
Impact of the role is organisation-wide, operating at both corporate level and supporting local teams and managers to deliver against business objectives.
The role requires an understanding of the NHS, current issues and the aims and objectives of the organisation, and enough commercial awareness to work effectively with suppliers and contractors from the private sector to obtain best value for money.
