This 2 year fixed-term role is an exciting opportunity for a brilliant communications and marketing professional to join our regional consultancy team in the South West. In the South West region you’ll be a member of a mixed team of internal consultants and a community of eight communications and marketing professionals as part of the wider South West consultancy that work with our properties. Your role is key to this team, helping to deliver great service and brilliant marketing campaigns for our places in Cornwall and the Tamar Valley, and the South West and the Trust as a whole. You’ll be supporting sites in Cornwall – including Lanhydrock, the beautiful estate at Trelissick, and Cotehele in the Tamar Valley. You may also work in other places in the South West as needs and opportunities arise, to help deliver our strategic priorities in marketing and communications. As part of our matrix way of working, you’ll form part of an organisation-wide network of Communication and Marketing consultants.
- Delivering the National Trust’s marketing and communications priorities and campaigns in the specific context of the Cornwall and the Tamar Valley and the South West, monitoring delivery across channels and evaluating to help inform future campaigns and using.
- Leading a group of property marketing professionals, providing insight, hands-on support and coordinating collaborative marketing activity across your clients in Cornwall and the Tamar Valley, including the development and delivery of property marketing plans.
- Contributing and working with the national marketing strategy and contributing to the marketing approach across regional channels.
- Effectively manage the reputation of the National Trust by developing and delivering proactive PR that raises awareness of our work, demonstrates the value we deliver for people and nature and proactively managing contentious issues and crisis communications.
- Managing contentious issues and crisis communications on an out of hours rota with the South West team.
- Communicating with supporters and stakeholders so they're able to engage with our visitor offer, as well as our land, outdoors, climate action and nature work. Keeping our ambition to make everyone feel welcome at the forefront of our marketing and communications activity.
- Working collaboratively with Destination Marketing Organisations and partners in the South West in planning and delivering activity to market the South West as a destination
- Providing strategic marketing and communications planning, delivery and consultancy support for projects.
- Significant experience in delivering brilliant visitor/client experiences and marketing plans in a relevant sector.
- Ability to build strong internal and external working relationships and providing excellent client experiences. Acting as an expert in your field of marketing and communications.
- Significant experience in the development, and coordination of marketing planning as well as delivering across a wide range of marketing channels, encouraging a closer integration of activity regionally and nationally, by following consistent working practices.
- A commitment to making everyone feel welcome through our brand and tone of voice.
- Strong consultancy skills, particularly active listening, stakeholder management and the ability to analyse and solve complex problems.
- Experience with working with local press and media, dealing with proactive and reactive communications. Writing copy and creating content suitable across a number of marketing channels, including website and social media platforms.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
