Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading telecommunications clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Communications Manager to join their in-house External Communications team in London for a six-month contract.
The role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with first-class writing, digital and communications skills and a strategic mindset to make a big impact on the way the brand is perceived by key stakeholders, such as investors, the media, politicians, regulators and current and future employees.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will play a key role in driving the external communications and digital strategy to the next level and oversee their digital, social and content strategy and measure performance towards their goals.
Oversee the implementation and execution of the overall digital strategy, including social media, content and website
Ensure we are progressing against our set goals and KPIs across a range of digital channels
Use data and insights to track performance and inform future content
Oversee an integrated editorial calendar and all content and assets produced, guide team members on the production of content to ensure it aligns with our key messages and overall strategy
Contribute to and manage ad hoc digital campaigns, working with agencies and wider stakeholder groups
Manage agencies and work with other external bodies
Ensure the corporate website is kept relevant and up-to-date with press releases, news stories and blogs and reflects the strategic direction of the business
Responsibility for keeping all social media channels - including Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram - up-to-date, drafting posts and creating visual and graphic content where necessary
Stay up to date on the current social media landscape and trends and integrate new tactics where necessary
Coming up with ideas for and writing blogs and news stories which position as thought leaders in the tech and media industry
Producing Power Point presentations for internal and external use
Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues in Corporate Responsibility,Tech, Investor Relations, People, HR and Operating Companies
Managing and executing projects and events
Commissioning graphics, videos and gifs from creative agencies and work with them to ensure they are of a high standard
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Excellent writing, communication skills and editorial judgement
Expertise and experience in digital and social media
Expertise in running and executing targeted digital campaigns
Ability to solve complex issues
Ability to act as a resource for best practice, as well as guiding more junior staff and work independently and autonomously
Comfortable with change and ambiguity
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience in working in a global organization
Strong PPT and Microsoft Word skills
Thorough understanding of the tech and media industry
Able to work well with third-parties
Able to generate fresh ideas - including developing inspiring and original story ideas and treatments for social media
Ability to think visually
Ability to work within a complex international organization and ability to gain support for communication projects within the organization
