About this position
The Development Specialist will work with the Foundation team to help execute the Foundation’s events
and communications efforts in a highly interactive and collaborative environment. A team player who thrives in a donor-centric atmosphere, the Development Specialist is responsible to work independently and as a member of the Foundation staff under extremely tight deadlines.
What we’ll expect from you
- Manage online, live and silent auctions through the auction’s full cycle, including brainstorming and drafting donation “ask” letters, managing the process with and through software systems coordinating with auction winners and taking all steps necessary for fulfillment and closing our auction; managing all relationships and media related
- Gather event information internally and participate in event brainstorming and planning
- Conduct event research (venues, vendors and speakers, etc.)
- Proof all materials related to events
- Serve as liaison to vendors, business partners and donors on event matters
- Assist in management of Foundation events calendar, including collaborating to define optimal cadence, formats, and goals for exceptional execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual gatherings
- Assist in managing digital communication and peer-to-peer fundraising to raise money and awareness for Foundation priorities.
- Assist in creation and management of Foundation donor recognition societies and associated events to maximize impact and effectiveness.
- Prepare and manage event registration, auction and development databases
- Assist in tracking event finances, including expenses, gross/net revenue margins and reporting
- Prepare all day-of-event materials, work with volunteers and assist as needed
- Assist in community and team member engagement related to MGH Fund, which will include working with the fundraising committees, business partners, physicians and donors on fundraising and outreach efforts
- Assist in direct mail and Team Member Giving, analyzing year-to-year data comparisons and building communications plans for donors
- Track stewardship process for the Foundation
- Assist in identifying areas to help build strong processes and foster best-practice across the organization, from content/creative development, to post-event reporting, and data analytics.
- Work collaboratively with Foundation and North Memorial Health staff to effectively promote all Foundation-supported and funded activities to audiences through appropriate communications channels
- Assist in management of Foundation interns and volunteers as needed
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- 2+ years events, communications, foundation or comparable experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess a high level of computer literacy, including experience using, maintaining, and report writing with online event management systems.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to work independently, set priorities and complete work on time and with accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and excel in fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Mature judgment and the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work some nights/weekends.
Hours per two week pay period: 80
Shift: Days 8 hours
