We're looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our marketing and communications department at our animation studio!
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you’ll oversee the planning, development and implementation of Mercury Filmworks’ marketing strategies defined by the Chief Content Officer (CCO), marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. This includes planning for and executing integrated marketing tactics – both traditional and digital, both paid and organic – to build brand awareness, encourage audience engagement and develop ROI.
You’ll take on the role of Brand Champion, playing a vital role in bringing our new and refreshed brand to life by creating, maintaining, and strengthening our brand through all media avenues.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance Mercury Filmworks image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications; and, all marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials.
- Work with CCO and CFO to build and implement the business strategy for Mercury Filmworks marketing department.
- Partnering with business development in the support of sales driven marketing initiatives.
- Creating effective tactics that differentiate Mercury Filmworks from the competition and support recruitment efforts.
- Identify the most effective communication channels and tools (including but limited to A.I.) to reach relevant target groups and help to feed these channels with the appropriate messaging.
- Strategize and implement paid and organic campaigns leveraging both traditional (collateral, print advertising) and digital marketing tactics (social media, digital advertising, website, Teams & email communications).
- Manage and support brand development with external partners and internal stake holders.
- Ensure that brand identity, messaging and marketing and communications strategy are infused in all organizational efforts internally and externally.
- Develop and/or manage marketing communications for launches, campaigns, and events.
- Identify trends, monitor current events and influencers to anticipate opportunities for Mercury Filmworks to engage in and/or lead the conversation on the animation industry.
- Build and maintain positive public relations in the animation industry.
- Create and manage annual marketing and communications budget.
- Monitor marketing and communications success and ROI analytics and generate reports for internal communications.
- Monitor competition, conducting frequent competitor and market research.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate marketing and communications policies.
- Support talent management, training on marketing policies, advertising strategies, and other marketing resources.
- Other marketing and communications duties, as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
- 3 to 5yrs experience as a marketing manager or similar role.
- Experience in content management, copy writing, and advertising.
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
- A firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social and digital.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience with research using data analytics software.
- Strong writing and communication skills, including copywriting and proofreading.
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret competitor strategies and target audience behaviour.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, and Lightroom).
- Previous experience working in a sales environment is considered an asset.
