Job Description
JOB TITLE: Transport Communications Manager
LOCATION(S): Cardiff, Stockport
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
Are you a creative Communications Manager, looking for your next challenge?
About this opportunity
Within Consumer Lending, the Transport Communications Team sits in the Customer Experience & Digital Team. We work with the Transport Platform team, the Transport Business Unit and Transport Customer Services. It’s an exciting time, as we build on our success and support the Group’s strategy to grow, focus and change.
As Communications Manager, based in Cardiff or Stockport, you’ll partner our teams to craft our strategic story and deliver outstanding communications to our key audiences- all with the aim of helping our colleagues connect with our vision and purpose. Supporting the Transport Communications team with internal communication and colleague engagement activity, you’ll have a broad remit and there will be plenty of opportunities for stretch and development, and to grow your own capabilities.

You’ll develop, own and deliver the communications and engagement approach & plan, working with our leadership and support teams to create compelling communications and campaigns that inspire and build pride in what we do. You’ll be bold, testing and introducing new methods to engage with our people, learning from best practice internally and externally.

You’ll need to understand our strategy and priorities and get in amongst the detail of what and how we deliver for our customers.
Accountabilities:
  • Ownership & delivery of the communications and engagement plan for the Transport business
  • Understand the key milestones in delivering our strategy and plans in relevant communications activity
  • Be involved and lead on the development of our people plan so it can be easily translated for colleagues through analysing the colleague survey and pulse results and information.
  • Manage all our events, including face to face sessions and all colleague calls
  • Manage our Branding Toolkit and our internal communication channels
  • Own and develop our narrative and communication products including the end-to-end creation and delivery of news articles, stories and business updates that bring people along on our journey as we implement our strategy and shape our culture and deliver for customers.
You’ll represent Transport on various communication working groups to provide ‘air traffic control’ of all communication activity. And you’ll ensure visibility of all communication activity across our senior teams, working with senior leaders, to build content that reflects their tone of voice and reflect on key moments for our business.

Why Lloyds Banking Group
We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. The investments we’re making in our people, data, and technology are leading to innovative projects, fresh possibilities, and countless new ways for our people to work, learn, and thrive.
What you’ll need

Essential:
  • An internal communications and engagement expert, with experience delivering a range of communications, storytelling and campaigns to develop awareness and drive behavioural change, within large corporate environments
  • Adept at strategically planning communications - understanding multiples streams of activity and how these relate to strategic objectives / people agendas
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and a proven ability to build and maintain working relationships, engage and influence a wide range of colleagues.
  • Experience of developing, prioritising and delivering communication and engagement deliverables in response to strategic priorities and colleague feedback and sentiment
  • Ability to analyse, simplify, make recommendations and present complex / technical matters to gain understanding and commitment at all levels of an organisation, inclusive of Senior Executives
  • Strong creative design skills, particularly in SharePoint, internal channels and use of the Microsoft 365 suite of apps to build fantastic content including slideshows, infographics, banners and logos.
And any experience of these would be really useful

  • A solid understanding of our Transport business would be useful, but not essential.
You’re a proactive, self-starter with ability to work independently whilst also getting results through others. You’ll relish the opportunity to use your creative approach to continually evolve our communication methods and techniques!
