Your Opportunity:
The Lead, Corporate Communications and Storytelling is responsible for providing internal and external communications, including emails, advertisements, manuals, letters, website content, social media, and other forms of communication. The Lead will use project and change management skills to lead, with support from the Manager, activities such as transitioning content to new digital platforms, implementing new processes to improve efficiency, and facilitating a community engagement strategy. Additionally, the Lead, Corporate Communications and Storytelling will create, review, and edit communication plans for the organization as well as review the effectiveness of communications strategies and suggest improvements.
Do you have the ability to …
· Conduct research and write stories that support the advancement of the organization’s strategic priorities and promote internal and community engagement with Hamilton Family Health Team.
· Confidently lead copywriting assignments across digital, email, social media, editorial (i.e., media releases), etc., and provide edits on copy.
· Coordinate and execute the delivery of email campaigns using a digital marketing platform (writing, analytics, audience management).
· Provide routine website/content maintenance and develop strategies to keep website and Intranet content up to date, monitor web traffic, optimize content for SEO, and use data/feedback from stakeholders to recommend website changes.
· Lead (in collaboration with our IT team) the transition of our website and Intranet to a new format and provider.
· Build and grow a social media strategy through research, strategic planning, and audience identification to increase audience engagement and behaviour change.
· Support a community engagement strategy through stakeholder and asset mapping, needs assessment, relationship building and partnership development and promoting, mobilizing, and evaluating community activities and initiatives.
· Ensure initiatives and opportunities are communicated regularly and in a variety of ways to a wide and diverse range of stakeholders.
· Act as a liaison between HFHT and members/partners to maintain and broaden the organization’s vision and mission.
If so, we are looking for a future colleague who has…
· A degree or diploma in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
· 5+ years of experience in a communications role.
· Excellent storytelling/copywriting skills – please be prepared to provide two examples of written content from your previous role(s) if interviewed.
· Experience with website maintenance and SEO.
· Experience and confidence in the initial troubleshooting of technical issues with a variety of technical platforms. Must be familiar with escalating issues to internal or external IT support systems and ensuring a timely solution.
· Experience in supporting or developing tailored strategies to engage non-professional and non-English speaking audiences is an asset.
· Customer service experience is an asset.
· Experience with social media strategy is an asset.
· Experience working in the public sector or health/social services is an asset.
· Experience or training in community engagement is an asset.
· Ability to prioritize multiple issues and understand critical first.
· Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, sometimes with “out of the box” solutions.
· Detail-oriented logical thinker with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
