Due to expansive growth my client situated in Blackburn is recruiting for an Engineering Manager.
Engineering Manager – Job Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance (PPM) - Plan System and practical management
- Routine and/or Planned Maintenance on Site – Plan
- Mandatory or Legal Equipment / Site Testing PAT testing portable and fixed appliances, Fire Alarms Engineering action lists from annual environmental audits
- Maintain technical control data, site plans, equipment manuals, specifications and electrical instruments
- Risk Assessments, Safe systems of work and Permit Controls Ensures all equipment on site is operating in accordance with HSE safety guidelines Ensures all resources including self, reporting team and site operatives are operating with safe systems of work and maintained, including any third-party contractors and relevant permit controls
- Capital Investments and/or Refurbishments – Plant & Equipment Part of wider investment team and responsibility for new equipment installations and/or refurbs
- Motivate, Lead & Develop the Engineering team and function
- Improve plant reliability and Implement OEE & CIP systems across SEL Key Equipment mapping and Energy logging
- Site Security & Fire Alarm Maintain roll call list and manage key holders
- Budgetary Control & Department Plan Hours & Benefits and Reporting Line
- Role flexible 4 or 5 days – Friday requires full engineering team attendance manufacturing facility primarily operates Mon-Thurs 24/4
- Salary £50k+ additional benefits commensurate with position, subject to skills and experience
- Role reports to Site Leadership Team Essential Skills/Knowledge
- HNC Degree qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Knowledge and experience of engineering and plant equipment in larger manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of PLC systems
- HSE legislation knowledge such as PUWER, IOSH ability to ensure safe working environment
- Problem-Solving, options and solutions based approach
- Management and Leadership skills and/or practical manufacturing experience essential
- Flexible thinking and ability to work in a cross functional manner with all stakeholders, suppliers and project teams
- Capable of pivoting to try new approaches when faced with urgent or complex challenges
- CMMS experience - data and systems knowledge
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £53,538.21-£55,609.91 per year
