Background
Based in the Student Experience Directorate, the newly expanded Student Communications and Voice team use their expertise, knowledge, and student-centric approach to provide clear, accessible, and consistent student communications. They work collaboratively to create a culture of listening to and engaging with our students, supporting staff to gather, interpret and respond meaningfully to feedback. And with a strong focus on belonging, the team build a warm welcome and sense of community for our students during their time with us.
Responsibilities
You will manage a multi-disciplinary team of ten professionals, leading them in the delivery of communications to our c20,000 City students, leading on the central university approach to student voice, partnership and feedback, and creating a positive welcome and sense of community for our students. You will work closely with colleagues at all levels of seniority to provide expert advice and actively contribute to committees and boards across City to positively improve our students experience.
Person Specification
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and qualified communications professional, with a commitment to creating a positive student experience. You will have an understanding of the mechanisms to engage the student voice, and the benefits of building a sense of community amongst students. Experience of leading and motivating teams is vital as well as the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve a shared outcome in the context of multiple competing priorities. A qualification or significant professional experience of internal communications and methodoligies is vital.
