Libraries are more than collection of books; they are hubs for community activities, places to access digital technology, and gateways to reading, information and wellbeing. Wirral Libraries exist to help people to live better lives for longer.
We are looking to appoint several enthusiastic Library Information Assistants, who are passionate about reading, library services and their communities. You must be customer focused, a keen team player, have excellent digital skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service and be capable of dealing positively with change and willing to embrace innovative ways of working.
You will help to deliver and support a programme of activities and library events, proactively helping people of all ages and from all backgrounds. You will support the provision of information and advice on council and partner services, as the first point of contact you will help provide better outcomes for our residents.
Flexibility is key as one moment you may be helping customers to log-on to the library WI-FI, then help download an eBook, or lead events such as Baby Rhyme Time session for parents and babies in a creative way. The variety of our work means that no two days are the same, therefore using your initiative and working without supervision is essential. We get huge job satisfaction from helping everyone that comes through our doors, and you could too!
Please note this is a physically active role and will include carrying books, pushing trolleys, lifting boxes and being on your feet for long periods of time.
Successful applicants will need to work flexibly across our network of library sites within the Borough.
All posts will include working one evening per week until 7pm with Part-time staff working 1 in 4 Saturdays and full-time staff working 2 in 4 Saturdays. (There are a variety of different working patterns to meet the service needs, specific work patterns to be discussed at interview).

Friday 2nd June and Tuesday 6th June 2023, between the hours of 10-12pm and 2.15-4.15pm (and 5.30-6.30 on the Tuesday only)
There are a number of positions available for both 18 and 36 hour per week, permanent contracts.
