Your role at Tony's

We are looking for a new Communications Specialist to join our Marketing team based in Richmond. Your #1 goal will be to support Tony's growth within the UK and Ireland chocolate market by increasing brand and issue awareness via our communications channels. You will be the one developing and executing an inspiring communication strategy that recruits new customers (choco fans) into our brand and mission. You will do this through storytelling and maintaining our challenger brand identity across all owned and earned media channels including digital (social media, email and website) and PR.


You will be a crucial part of the UK marketing team and report directly to the UK & Ireland Head of Marketing. This is a unique opportunity for a communications professional who wants to be part of something truly revolutionary!


What you will do:

  • You develop and execute the paid and organic communications calendar across social media channels (Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok). Supported by the marketing assistant, you execute global and local campaigns, support the launch of new products, and continuously evolve content to maximise reach with customers.
  • You drive the sales of our personalised bars business with an optimised B2B email calendar and grow brand and issue awareness with choco fans with impactful B2C email calendar communication.
  • You make sure our web shop is up to date with our latest brand and mission information. You work with our E-commerce sales team to ensure our online shop showcases our latest products and that the content is optimised for conversion.
  • You get to grow our earned media reach with strong press releases, storytelling and relationship-building with our UK and Ireland PR agencies. You will execute global and local campaigns and ensure our new product launches get maximum attention on the right press channels.
  • You continue to grow our list of ‘Serious Friends’ (influencers we have a relationship with) in the UK and Ireland, as well as maintaining current relationships, to increase organic coverage of gifting campaigns.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in a similar marketing role. We are looking for someone to take our communications strategy to the next level so this is a mid-level role.
  • You have experience in creating and executing digital communications strategies (social media, email and online communications) for a challenger brand/ brand with a strong story and tone of voice. Bonus point for PR experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating engaging and impactful copywriting and captivating storytelling.
  • You have excellent attention to detail. You can spot a typo a mile away.
  • Ability to create on-brand visual assets, manage content photo shoots, and optimise global campaign content for the UKI market. Competency using Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is necessary for in-house design tweaks although most will be done by our global creative team.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with third-party agencies and internal teams to deliver plans and meet goals.
  • Solid understanding of B2C and B2B comunications throughout the marketing funnel.
  • Competency using email marketing software (bonus for Marketing Cloud).
