We are now recruiting for the post of Communications Assistant, who will provide daily support to the Assistant Dispatcher and Senior Dispatcher within our busy Control room. - Please note, this is not an Emergency Call taker position.
You will be the first point of contact for Bristol Ambulance, being able to effectively and professionally manage a high level of inbound calls, conference calls and queries.
The ideal candidate, with support from the Senior and Assistant Dispatcher, will be able to work in partnership with other NHS professionals and stakeholders who have an interest in the company and provide assistance with respect and courtesy, all whilst upholding the Bristol Ambulance company image and values.
You will be able to provide a thorough understanding of the differing needs of different users, whether this be co-ordinating a conference call or taking a patient booking.
A good general knowledge of IT systems (although specific training will be completed), excellent telephone manner and being able to demonstrate your ability to work in a high-pressured environment, whilst remaining professional and appropriate, is crucial to this role. You must be highly flexible and willing to assist your team as and when the need arises.
Hours:
- 4 on 4 off rota
- rotation between 0730-1930 shifts and 1200-0000 shifts
