Job description
As our new communications Assistant and PA, you will Support the communications team in protecting and enhancing BBC Studios reputation and raising awareness of services. Will support with communications for the Brands & Licensing teams across merchandise, publishing, live entertainment, gaming and Interactive for key brands such as Doctor Who, BBC Earth, Bluey and Hey Duggee.
Main Responsibilities- Support communications colleagues in publicising key BBC brands and consumer products and services within the Brands & Licensing team
- Handle and respond to inquiries from relevant media and stakeholders where appropriate.
- Contribute to communications material – writing, editing, distributing and uploading where relevant (i.e., press releases, programme information, previews and promotional clips).
- Carry out tasks such as media monitoring and managing central inboxes. Be responsible for collating monthly coverage reports and leadership communications updates
- Contribute to evaluation of work, collecting data and working with colleagues to examine the impact of communications work.
- Assist with the planning, organising and delivery of press launches and conferences plus other events where required. Provide additional administrative assistance and project support to stakeholders and colleagues
- Provide technical support for divisional and team webinars
- Support the running of social media channels and assist with the production of assets for use online and in social media
- Support the Director of Communications with daily diary management and scheduling of meetings
- Create accurate and detailed communication calendars and monthly board packs
- Responsible for team activities e.g arranging learning and development sessions, fortnightly team meetings, booking guest speakers, social and team building events
- Assisting widely within comms & events team according to need, across admin, SAP, talent/VIP/stakeholder liaison and hosting, booking travel and accommodation
- Preparing comms and publicity assets and materials including video, copy, imagery and presentations
Essential
- Ability to work to tight deadlines often under pressure.
- Very good written and spoken communications including good English spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and social skills, both face-to-face and on the phone.
- Computer literate with strong office skills including the ability translate complex data into easy to understand materials.
- Able to learn new IT skills quickly and adapt to different systems, including digital editing and uploading to websites.
- A good working knowledge and use of social media for promoting content and news stories.
- Organised and focused with good attention to detail.
Desirable
- Some experience in communications environment.
- Experience of writing communications materials, for publication by a wide range of outlets to short notice and tight deadlines.
- Good knowledge of the media including print, broadcast and online channels.
