We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Commercial Manager to join our NMC SW contract in Scotland (Hybrid with 3 offices across Scotland)
Commercial Manager plays an important part in managing the road maintenance contract (NMC SW – New Maintenance Contract South West) with Transport Scotland.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week

You will be responsible for:
- Procurement of Subcontracts in line with procurement process, bid expectations and robust subcontract documentation, Process and manage subcontract payments and work to resolve any disputes/claims that may arise.
- Play a leading role in the Management Team, manage and/or carry out if required all normal quantity surveying duties, and comply with the Amey Values and ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements
What makes this role unique is
That this is a £70m (minimum) per year contract, and will run until Aug 2028.
You will work closely with the Operations team and the client, driving best value and practice.

We want to hear from you if you have:
- Sound knowledge of contracts along with legal understanding relevant to contracts
- Strong desire to further Client relationships whilst ensuring that contractual entitlements are not compromised
- Ensure the change control process is managed effectively on both Main and Subcontract
- Realise the opportunities and manage the risks identified in the Bid stage
- Effectively manage Client relations at contract level
- Ensure compliance with the Amey systems, processes and procedures to deliver post contract commercial management of Contract values £20-£40m p.a.
Ideally you will be qualified in Quantity Surveying with experience in client managenent and Strong commercial and financial acumen
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have an MRICS or equivalent and proven track record in quantity surveying / commercial management to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
