This is a hybrid role and can therefore be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to meet with the project team in the Northampton office will be required on a regular basis.

Wood Digital Consulting is currently recruiting a Commercial Manager for their Systems Integration business and will be responsible for the commercial management of large strategic and contractually complex project. Extensive experience in variation order and contractual change management will be a key focus for this role.

The main deliverables and responsibilities for the Commercial Manager are to ensure:
Overview / Responsibilities
Project operates in accordance with company commercial policies and procedures- Manages and provides peers with general direction in all commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout
- Development of project sub-contracting strategies in conjunction with Project Supply Chain Manager
- Placement and management of sub-contracts in accordance with relevant company policies and procedures and in a manner which optimises the company’s commercial position
- Sub-contract documentation is maintained in accordance with policy and procedural requirements
- Evaluation and settlement of subcontractor claims
- Agreement of final accounts and close out of subcontracts in accordance with contract requirements
- Project invoicing is carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that the company’s cash position is maximised
- Project KPI and Revenue at risk scheme(s) administered in accordance with the terms of the contract
- Project costs are effectively controlled
- Cost/value reporting and end life forecasting on project are undertaken in accordance with policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts
- Any necessary contractual notices are served in accordance with the terms of the contract
- Preparation and submission of variation and contract amendment requests is undertaken in accordance with contract requirements
- Preparation and submission of claims is undertaken in accordance with contract requirements
- Risk management techniques are applied on project
- Appropriate training and development provided for project personnel on contractual commercial matters
- Comply with Tender Governance Process within Business Unit
- Governance and implementation of Financial Management Framework within Business Unit
- Excellent communication at all levels of the organisation
- Significant experience in managing complex contracts
- Experience with construction projects desirable
- The initial setting up and day-to-day monitoring of KPIs in the execution of frameworks
- Experience of ERP systems, Scheduling, cost control and information management system
- Experience in managing NEC type contracts
- Experience in manufacturing sector and manufacturing line facilities projects
