Commercial Director – Renewable Energy & Power Generation IPP
Commercial Director sought by leading Renewable Energy, Power Generation and Energy Storage independent power producer and EPC. The successful Commercial Director will oversee a team that takes projects from the project development team, supporting the closure of contracts and managing them through construction into operations. As a fully integrated IPP and EPC, your team will be exposed to the full project life cycle and you will manage and support procurement professionals, commercial managers and quantity surveyors.
The portfolio of confirmed projects includes the UK’s largest Hydrogen production facility (3GW’s), Pumped Storage Hydro (1.5GW’s) and GW’s of Battery Storage / H2 Ready Thermal Assets.
The ideal Commercial Director will be equally comfortable closing commercial contracts as they will in driving the performance of third parties and managing quality. You will have a background in thermal power generation, large scale renewables, Transmission & Distribution or large scale Infrastructure.
Commercial Director key requirements;
- Proven track record delivering high value energy projects on time and to budget
- Substantial Contract negotiation / delivery experience – Assertive profile
- Previously led the commercial delivery of high value projects (>£100m preferred)
- Experience supporting front end procurement / closing of commercial agreements
- Experience seeing these agreements through to fulfilment
- Experience managing any claims processes that arise during or post project completion
The successful Commercial Director will inherit a small team which they will grow quickly and a pipeline of challenging projects. You will operate within an organisation that offers autonomy, generous remuneration and flexibility.
Location – Head office is in London and projects are all within the United Kingdom. Whilst there is a preference for a London based location, this point can be flexible. There will be travel required within the UK.
