THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently hiring a Commercial Analyst to join our commercial analytics team supporting the commercial operation of large grid-scale battery storage and EV fleet projects. This role will be responsible for a range of mid and back office activities focusing on capacity market participation, including prequalification, metering assessments/data flows and testing for our battery storage and demand side response sites. The role will also support our registration and settlement of wholesale energy market trades, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), balancing/grid services and network charges.
This role is critical in supporting the business achieve its ambitious growth targets whilst ensuring effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss whether financial or reputational.
The successful candidate will be expected to efficiently operate registration, testing and settlement processes and help to develop automated processes to bring efficiencies and improved controls, as we continue to scale up internationally.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
Capacity Market
- Support the prequalification, milestone tracking, metering assessment, data flow set up and testing of assets in GB and international capacity markets.
- Collaboratively work with cross functional teams to unlock the flexibility of our EV fleet and battery storage sites in order to provide services from the local network to the National Grid.
- Managing the resolution of day-to-day operational issues and any queries from internal teams and external parties.
- Leading ad-hoc analysis to support a specific bid for large scale projects.
- Prepare responses to Government consultations on the design of future power markets.
Settlements
- Settlement of capacity market, wholesale power trades, grid services, market access and network charges.
- Accurate and timely validation of invoices and payments within contractual timelines.
- Ensuring funds are received and paid on time.
- Drive efficiency and improved performance (e.g., system enhancements and automation).
- Helping to develop and manage reporting requirements for the PPA Team and wider business.
- Using private and public data to build inhouse insights.

- The ideal candidate will have 2+ years prior experience in a commercial role, ideally within the energy or EV industry.
- You should have a numerate degree and/or specific relevant experience.
- You should be used to working in an environment where accuracy and speed are essential.
