Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager this role is responsible for preparing and operating CNC Laser/Plasma machinery to create precise designs, safely, for a variety of manufacturing products.
Hours of work:
Part time and full-time work is available across a variety of days and shift patterns i.e 3 day / 4 day / night shift, offering very desirable premiums for shift work.
Pay:
From* £13.13 - £15.23 with the potential to earn up to £20.56 *for shift rotations/night shift
Enhanced rates are available for optional overtime

Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate good safety behaviours in the workplace; ensure all rules / standards and procedures are adhered to at all times; wear correct personal protective equipment.
- Operating CNC plasma/laser machinery.
- Loading and set up of laser/plasma machines, based on material type, thickness, load programs and set machine parameters.
- Reading and interpreting laser programmes and production packs.
- Ensuring material is checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and to inform the Team Leader of any quality concerns regarding the material.
- Work to agreed output targets and deadlines, ensuring internal customer orders are produced 'on time and in full' to required quality standard.
Essential
- Working knowledge of engineering materials and processing of materials such as steel
- Ability to read and interpret laser programmes
- Experience working to tight deadlines
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Experience of working on own initiative and acting to resolve any issues impacting upon performance
- Strong work ethic
- Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Willing to undertake training as required
- Willing to work overtime if required
- Good physical stamina
Preferred
- Previous experience operating a CNC laser/plasma and CNC setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience working with sheet metal with the ability to distinguish material types including aluminium, steel, stainless steel, copper and brass, and material thickness
