Communications and Marketing Officer - Job Advert
£30,000 per annum
Full time- Permanent 37.5 hours a week

Are you a passionate communicator with level 6 BSL or equivalent ready to make a lasting impact on the Deaf community? Join our team at self Help UK as a Communications and Marketing Officer and take charge of driving awareness and uptake of our revolutionary Macmillan Deaf Cancer Support pilot. In this role, you will collaborate with our dedicated Deaf team to develop and implement an effective marketing and communications strategy, connecting with both Deaf and hearing stakeholders.
We are seeking individuals who possess the following key requirements:
1. Develop and Execute Effective Communications and Marketing Strategy: Work with the Deaf Cancer Support team to create an impactful marketing and communications plan for the Deaf cancer support pilot, engaging both Deaf and hearing stakeholders to drive service uptake and raise awareness.
2. Engage and Inspire: Connect with the Deaf community and stakeholders through diverse channels, such as events, conferences, webinars, and social media, to build awareness and encourage clients, carers, and peer support groups to embrace the service in line with the strategy.
3. Foster Partnerships with Deaf and hearing Stakeholders: Collaborate with the hearing cancer support community, including organisations like the NHS and voluntary sector organisations, attending events, meetings, and utilising social media to promote awareness and utilisation of the service.
4. Leverage Existing Networks: Utilise current networks within hearing organisations supporting Deaf individuals with cancer, carers, and peer support groups, ensuring the service reaches other organisations engaging with the wider Deaf community.
5. Create Compelling Marketing Materials: Coordinate promotional events and develop captivating marketing materials that effectively engage both Deaf and hearing individuals, aligning with the overall strategy including the translations some documentation.
6. Analyse, Improve, and Innovate: Collect and analyse data on campaign effectiveness, providing timely reports and recommendations for improvement, while actively seeking new and creative ways to engage both Deaf and hearing communities to drive awareness and uptake.
